My second Christmas living on our own my grandmother gave me a beautiful wooden advent calendar. I put it out every year and my kids love seeing what decoration is going to be added each day. Though this year I might surprise them with some chocolate kisses in the spaces along with the little ornaments. Christmas is a magical time of year for kids and adults alike.
