This website was founded and created by Ashley, mom to three kids (ages 13-8).
Welcome, and I’m glad you have decided to start here and learn more about what Forgetful Momma has to offer you.
Here on Forgetful Momma, you can find tips for getting through the day, steps to getting the secular homeschool work and housework done, and how to not lose your cool too often.
Whether you are here from a Google search, Pinterest, or a shared post, I’m happy to have you here. If you are looking for something specific you can use the search bar on the right, or if on mobile, to the bottom of this page to start looking around.
Let’s start here.
Why homeschooling? After a few months of my oldest going to public school for kindergarten, we realized that we have been unschooling all along. She wasn’t being challenged, and rarely entertained by the things they were doing in class, and don’t even get me started on the classroom management skills that were lacking in the whole school.
2015/2016 was our first official year homeschooling, but not our last as we’re in full swing of the 2020-2021 year with three kids willing, eager, and loving to learn.
If you are clicking around, checking things out, I have some main topics that I write about, though I tend to write about all life-related things. You can find the main categories in the top menu, but here is an overview of each.
Kids Activities – I have fun with my kids. We get messy because messes can be cleaned up and they create great memories. We do experiments and explore because that’s how kids learn, and sometimes I just like to see what’s going to happen too.
Secular Homeschooling – We have just finished with our fourth year of homeschooling and are getting ready to move on to our next. With three kids of different ages, it is crazy fun homeschooling them, watching them learning and learning along with them.
Recipe Box – I have over 100 recipes that I have already shared. Breakfast, Snacks, Main Course, Desserts, Condiments, and a few Beverages. I have plans to share lots more, there are always a few recipes worth of pictures on my camera.
Welcome to my little slice of crazy with my amazing family.
