Google Classroom for Homeschool Parents
I know you are probably thinking why do I want to use something else, why do I want to learn to use something else? Am I right? I know, because I thought the same thing until I got to playing around with it myself.
It is a time-saver having three kids. When you set up a year’s worth of lessons or less! you have that there, finished, and waiting for the next child who will be in that grade. And then the next.

Why Homeschool Parents Should Use Google Classroom
Save time and energy. If you cannot be right there standing over your child to make sure they are getting their work out and completed this is a great way to go. You upload/assign work along with any links or videos you want their watch to go along with the assignment.
You can set updates for the work to be completed – prevent them from moving along too fast, OR set due dates to make sure they are staying on track.
Who Should Use Google Classroom
Anyone can, and should use Google Classroom! Why not save yourself time in the long run.
Are you are working parenting homeschool parent? This is a great option for you.
Ways to use it in your homeschool this year:
- assign readings, videos, tests, questions and more in advance
- supplement learning and videos to watch that went along with readings
- Google Docs meaning that you can go completely paperless with your learning – you can buy digital products and upload directly from your Google Drive
How to use Google Classroom for Homeschool
Set it up, and be finished forever! Unless you change curriculum. It really is great for when you have found a curriculum that works and you can create assignments for your child and let them learn to be in control of getting their work completed. Great for middle school and high school students.
Google Classroom allows you to plan ahead, and not have to tell them what to do next, and then what to do next. That independence is worth a lot.
With many curriculum turning to online resources this method of delivery works great.
