Why You Should be Using Homeschool Apps
With the biggest benefit being the ability to find apps for just about every core subject, and some, the following benefits are concrete reasons why parents should consider using apps for homeschooling.
When using online and digital devices, you’re not using paper which is a win-win, especially if you don’t have the time to find resources and print them off. Homeschool parents are also more likely to actually utilize a resource that is easier to manage versus a stack of papers.
Homeschool Apps
Google Classroom
This one allows you to take school with you wherever you have your cellphone or tablet. I have covered all the ways you can use Google Classroom in your homeschool from setting it up the first time to reusing lessons with your younger children years later.
Duolingo is fun and addictive. Earn points for correct answers, race against the clock, and level up. The lessons are short and the rewards keep the kids motivated to keep learning. My own kids love this!
Library Reading App – Libby + Hoopla
If your kids are big readers like mine, an app that is connected to your library’s access to ebooks is going to be handy. You can also get the Kindle App for free in which you can find some free books, as well as subscribe to Kindle Unlimited.
This app lets children learn about different countries, including their landmarks, locations, major cities, and more. The developers have other apps that allow children to learn the states, presidents, and other subjects.
One of the most popular math apps available, MathBoard is a highly configurable math app that is appropriate for kindergarten through middle school-aged students. From simple addition to multiplication and division, you can use the app to match the abilities of your child.
