Hi! I’m Ashley, mother of three, wife, homeschooler, and blogger. We are Maritimers (Nova Scotia) at heart and are finally back in the Maritimes after seven years in the Prairies. Here is a little about us, and how we can help you on your homeschool journey.
Here on Forgetful Momma, you can find tips for getting through the day, steps to getting the secular homeschool work and housework done, and how to not lose your cool too often.
I write from the heart, I’m 100% honest that I don’t know everything, I am stumbling along just like the next person. I’m going to tell you when I screw up just the same as I do when I have found success, in fact, Instagram is a looking glass into our everyday life, with no filters, no edits, you can see just how messy our house can get.
We are secular homeschoolers with five full years under our belt now. I want you to know that you aren’t alone in starting this journey, we’re stumbling along with homeschooling, with parenting our children along with you. Here you can see learn more about us, and see that you aren’t the only one struggling through the day as a parent, as a homeschooler, as a wife.
Forgetful Momma started many years ago, while the focus has changed from an online journal to sharing our journey of homeschooling our children through secular eclectic methods while keeping up with the housework and feeding my family.
We are a family of five. We are very loud. We love each other.
A little more about us:
Me (Ashley) – I am the writer behind Forgetful Momma. I am a homeschool momma, and chicken and quail herder. I am an avid reader, crocheter, and coffee drinker.
Hubby – He supports our family as a salesman. Playing guitar, and woodworking in his spare time. And, he rarely smiles for pictures, he’s not as grumpy as he seems in Instagram photos.
Austin – 13 years old (March 2009). She is a Lego, science, and animal-loving girl, in grade 8. She has a big heart for everyone and every animal. She currently wants to be a conservation officer.
Brookland – 11 years old (May 2011). She is a ball of laughing-, singing-, and dancing- energy. She loves Lego, and everything else her sister has an interest in. She’s very photo genetic, always wanting her picture taken, grade 6.
Gauge – eight years old (November 2013). This boy is giving me a run for my money. He loves all things superheroes and bugging his older sisters.
