Another year has come and gone. We have laughed and cried over lessons, and walked away from plans because they didn’t work out. I have shared our troubles and successes here with you. Here were your favorites throughout the year of 2019 on Forgetful Momma.
This page is always at the top, it’s a fun topic to be passionate about, Kids in the Kitchen. My ten year old is confident in her baking abilities and ability to read and follow a recipe. Which was one goal, we’ll be working more on cooking this coming year.
Arctic Animals Science Experiment – We first did this science experiment in addition to our BookShark Science Level 1 school, but it was fun enough to repeat just because we wanted too.
Poop Cookies – No Bake Cookies – Don’t feel like running your oven? Maybe save this recipe for this summer as it makes a delicious, unhealthy, snack that doesn’t require a lot of heat in your house as instead of putting them in the oven, you toss them in the fridge.
Heart Pumping Science Experiment – We did this as part of Level 1 science too because my kids are all about learning about the human body. They love all activities including this one about the body.
Rhubarb Crisp in the Slow Cooker – This is a summer time favorite. Fresh from the garden rhubarb, a slow cooker so you don’t heat your house up during a summer heat wave.
Simple Mini Donuts – A fun treat, anytime of the day because they are just that easy to make. These also make a great treat for your kids to make.
Disappearing Color Science Experiment – This is a simple, simple science experiment. How to make color disappear from water. This only requires a few little things, things that you already have in your house.
Asian Ground Beef – A 30 minute meal. Perfect for any day of the week when you want to get a good dinner on the table and not have to order out again.
Sun Protection Activity – Teach your kids about the importance of applying sunscreen this summer and every summer. Your kids will see how the sunscreen protected the color on the paper while the sun did it’s damage.
How to Plan Your Homeschool – Unschooling & Eclectic – I felt silly writing this, and it still seems silly. Planning unschooling. But I did make some great suggestions on how to direct learning based on themes or seasons and holidays through the year.
