Second Breakfast for Homeschoolers

Second breakfast anyone? I think if you have homeschooled for a day, knows that your kids want to eat every second of the day. It’s breakfast time, then it’s time for second breakfast and then a snack, then lunch, and then more food throughout the day.

One thing I try to not buy too often is cereal. I find this increases the amount of food that my kids want or feel they need to eat through the morning. Sugary cereals are definitely off the shopping list.

Snack Recipes for Second Breakfast

Snacks are life! Baked goods are the best. So you put them together and you get second breakfast for your growing homeschoolers. I swear these kids have multiple stomachs.

Oatmeal is a great, stick to your ribs ingredient. Maybe fill them up on the second go instead of coming back for thirds or fourths. Which is why we have a number of recipes here that have oatmeal in them.

Cinnamon Bread | Chocolate Chip Muffins | Chocolate Chip Peanut Butter Oatmeal Cups | Cherry Muffins | Pancake Cups

Homemade Granola Bars | Blueberry Vanilla Muffins | Banana Chocolate Oatmeal Muffins | PB & J Muffins | Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Muffins

Blueberry Muffins |Coffee Cake Muffins | Cornmeal Muffins | Pizza Muffins | No Bake Peanut Butter Oatmeal Bars

Cinnamon Roll Baked Oatmeal | Oatmeal Cookies | Chocolate Chip Coffee Muffins | Hot Sauce Rolls | Apple, Peanut Butter Wraps

Kids in the Kitchen Baking

The best thing about every snack, or second breakfast idea that I listed above is that your kids could make them themselves. Making their own snack is a great way to get your kids in the kitchen baking where they are having home economics calls, practicing reading, math, and science skills.

For younger bakers it’s really helpful to have baking supplies in their size. It makes it easier for them, and also makes for less flour and dough flying out of the bowl.
