Finding Homeschool Printables/Worksheets

Part of homeschooling is finding what you need and knowing where to look for them. You aren’t too likely to find everything you could possible want all in one spot. After homeschooling for a number of years I have had some great luck at finding homeschool printables and worksheets for my kids when we want them.

Part of the reason I like using worksheets and other printables is that we don’t follow a curriculum but instead I follow my kids’ interests. So today they are interested in learning about Arctic animals but tomorrow they might be interested in and want to learn more about airplanes.

Worksheets and Printables

Where do you find your printables and worksheets? The first place I always go is TeachersPayTeachers. If I can’t find it there, then it just might not exist. It is a great resource for all teachers, public school and homeschool teachers too.

I of course offer my own set of printables that I make for my children. You can find them in my shop. Many homeschool bloggers have their own shops with printables and /or offer free printables as I do.

There is also Education.com.

The best place to find what you are looking for is Pinterest. Search what you are looking for and you’ll find more options than you could imagine. Both free and paid printables.

When you search a search engine like Google or Pinterest, make sure to include the grade you are looking for, what it is you are looking for, and possibly what subject. So it might look like “grade 2 science animals”.

Printing

I have an Epson printer, I would love to upgrade to an EcoTank someday. But the key here is that if you are going to be looking for worksheets then you need to have a way to use them and the most common way to use them is to print them at home.

Make sure you also have backup ink refill/replacements, and plenty of paper.

Reusable

With three kids I don’t want to have to keep printing things over and over again, especially things that could be easily reused.

I tend to laminate things. Not everything, but flashcards we make for lessons like Grammar Galaxy that will get used from child to child. Another option would be these reusable dry erase sleeves.
