Can Homeschoolers get Teacher Discounts?
The short answer is: yes.
Homeschooling can get expensive, all the little things add up and can add up quickly. There are some places that give us homeschoolers discounts just like they do teachers. Teacher discounts don’t always work great in our favor though, they may only be effective for teachers buying for larger groups of children.
Apple has a special education store that is available to current and newly accepted college students and their parents, as well as faculty, staff, and homeschool teachers of all grade levels.
Barnes & Noble Educators Program
Educators can save 20% on all purchases for classroom use (including books, toys, and games), get up to 25% off during Educator Appreciation events, and receive valuable offers via email.
Prefer Dell over Apple? There’s something for you, too! With the Member Purchase Program, K-12 students receive exclusive discounts on select laptops, desktops, tablets, ad other Dell products, and accessories.
You save 15% on every purchase of eligible classroom items (including bulletin board items and educational games).
Staples Teacher Rewards Program
Staples pretty much has everything you need. With their double-tiered teacher rewards program, you earn 5% back in rewards, 10% back in rewards on teaching and art supplies, and you get free shipping when you order online.
How Do Homeschoolers Get A Discount?
In some places, Staples, for example, will accept your letter of registration from the school board or department of education.
Other places require a homeschool ID. A homeschool ID card is your run-of-the-mill identification card – much like your state ID or driver’s license. It simply serves as proof to any officials who ask that you are a homeschool educator and that our children are homeschool students. It is also used to verify your identity.
How Do You Get A Homeschool ID?
You can make one yourself! For Free! Yay! You can also get them from Homeschool Buyers Coop. You can get one for free if you wish to print it yourself, or you can buy to get it professionally printed as a sturdy, plastic ID card.
