Let’s make some super fun mini donuts for a birthday party. These are easy to make and make a great addition to any celebration. A birthday cake mini donut is perfect for a birthday party, but also great for celebrating the end of the school year like we are doing right now!

When I think of a birthday, I think of a lot of colors. Sprinkles. Rainbows. Balloons everywhere. This is exactly what I want in birthday cake mini donuts. These are simple to make because no one wants to spend forever making a treat.
What You Need:
- 2 cups flour
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 cup low-fat milk
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 tbsp rainbow sprinkles
How to Make Birthday Cake Mini Donuts
Mix all the ingredients together in a bowl. Leaving the rainbow sprinkles for last. You want to fold them in, similar to adding in blueberries to blueberry muffins.
You could use one color for a themed cake mini donut, like all purple. Or Red and White for Canada Day; Red, White, and Blue for July 4th.
I place a large Ziploc bag, corner first, into a mug. I then pour my batter into a Ziploc bag.
This makes it like a piping bag. Which is a great way to simply pour/fill the mini donut maker molds.
This has proven to be the easiest and quickest way for me to make mini donuts. And with relatively no mess. But you could also try using a batter dispenser though this batter is a bit thicker and I can’t guarantee that it will flow through smoothly.
Mix, bag, squeeze, close the mini donut maker to cook. The mix tends to be thick, which makes filling the mold in the machine to be super easy and less messy as well.
Add a small amount of batter into the mini donut molds, and close until fully cooked. Allow to fully cool before frosting.
How great are these for a birthday party or any kind of celebration? Top them off with some fun-colored frosting with some more sprinkles on top. Kids LOVE sprinkles in their mini donuts and on top of them.

- Spray molds with non-stick spray, and preheat your mini donut maker.
- Add a small amount of batter into the mini donut molds, and close until fully cooked.
- Allow to fully cool before frosting.
