How to Use A Mini Donut Maker:
In case you just got your mini donut maker and you are looking to see exactly how to do it, this post is for you: How to Use a Mini Donut Maker. I show you how I do it easily with a Ziploc bag.

Use Mini Donuts to Teach Your Kids
Because we love mini donuts, I thought it would be fun to have some mini donut-themed schoolwork. Have a snack, learn something.
We have donut fractions. Which you could also do with real donuts as you are eating them. And donut place value where your kids decorate their donuts with tens blocks.
We also have creative writing and art. After doing this lesson, I recommend letting your kids decorate actual donuts in their design, this not only brings the lesson to life but lets you decompress from lessons with some fun and a snack.
Peanut Butter & Chocolate Perfection ā Tips, Swaps, and Fun Add-Ons

If you loved these Chocolate Peanut Butter Mini Donuts, youāre in for a treat ā literally! This combo of rich chocolate and creamy peanut butter is one of those perfect pairings that never goes out of style. Here are a few ways to customize, store, and enjoy your donuts so theyāre even more delicious the next time you make them.
Ingredient Variations & Swaps
- Flour options: Try substituting half of the all-purpose flour with whole wheat pastry flour for extra fiber and a slightly nutty flavor.
- Nut butter swaps: Almond butter, sunflower seed butter, or even cookie butter can work beautifully if you want to change up the flavor or need a peanut-free option.
- Sweeteners: You can replace the sugar with coconut sugar or honey for a more natural sweetness. If you like extra depth, a teaspoon of molasses makes the chocolate flavor richer.
- Dairy-free alternatives: Use oat milk or almond milk and a dairy-free yogurt or applesauce instead of regular milk and yogurt.
- Egg replacement: For a vegan twist, swap the egg with a āflax eggā (1 tablespoon ground flaxseed + 3 tablespoons water, let sit 5 minutes).

Topping Ideas
- Classic glaze: Mix powdered sugar, milk, and a touch of vanilla extract for a shiny donut-shop look.
- Chocolate drizzle: Melt chocolate chips with a teaspoon of coconut oil and drizzle over the cooled donuts.
- Peanut butter glaze: Stir peanut butter with a bit of milk and powdered sugar for a creamy, nutty topping.
- Crunch factor: Roll the glazed donuts in crushed peanuts, pretzels, or chocolate sprinkles for fun texture.
- Dessert-inspired toppings: Try crushed Oreos, Reeseās pieces, or toasted coconut flakes for a more decadent treat.
Tips for Baking Success
- Donāt overfill the molds. Fill each donut cavity about ā full so they have room to rise without overflowing.
- Check your bake time. Mini donuts bake quickly! Start checking at the 5-minute mark to avoid overbaking.
- Use a piping bag. For neat, even donuts, transfer your batter into a piping bag (or a zip-top bag with the corner cut off) to fill each mold easily.
- Cool before glazing. Always let your donuts cool completely before adding toppings so the glaze sets nicely and doesnāt slide off.
- How to Store & Freeze
Keep leftover donuts in an airtight container at room temperature for up to two days, or in the fridge for up to five.
To freeze, place them on a baking sheet until solid, then transfer to a freezer-safe bag. Theyāll stay fresh for up to 2 months. Reheat in a toaster oven or microwave for a quick breakfast treat or after-school snack.

Fun Ways to Serve
- Breakfast party: Pair these mini donuts with fruit skewers and hot chocolate for a cozy weekend brunch.
- Kid-friendly activity: Let your kids decorate their donuts with sprinkles and peanut butter drizzle ā perfect for rainy days or homeschool baking projects.
- Dessert board idea: Create a mini donut dessert board with strawberries, chocolate dip, marshmallows, and pretzels for your next get-together.
- Gift them! Package a few in cellophane bags tied with ribbon for homemade teacher gifts or neighbor treats.

Can I make them gluten-free?
Yes, just use a 1:1 gluten-free flour blend and ensure your other ingredients are certified gluten-free.
