Art can sometimes get pushed off here and left for my kids to do on their own, they are very artistic but I didn’t know where to start to give them art classes. Learning about this online art curriculum has changed all that for us. Teaching art in our homeschool isn’t so scary anymore.

We chose to try and use Atelier Homeschool Art by Arts Attack Level 5 in our homeschool starting this Spring. While Gauge, at 6 years old, isn’t in that level yet, he still watches the video lessons and creates his own work along with my girls, aged 9 and 11. He’s very creative and more artistic than my 9 year.
Where to Start with Atelier Homeschool Art
Atelier Homeschool Art by Arts Attack is an online art curriculum for students ages 4-16 through their eight different levels. This is a great digital curriculum for parents who aren’t artistic, for those who are unsure of where to start teaching art in their homeschool, and/or for those who are looking for an independent art curriculum for their children.
Depending on the age and level of knowledge your child possesses you may choose:
- Level 1 – (Ages 4-6)
- Level 2 – (Ages 5-8)
- Level 3 – (Ages 6-10)
- Level 4 – (Ages 7-11)
- Level 5 – (Ages 8-13)
- Level 6 – (Ages 9-15)
- Level 7 – (Ages 10-15)
- Level 8 – (Ages 10-16)
Each level is a full year of Visual Art Instruction, and contains:
- 20 developmental, sequential digital lessons
- Downloadable and printable Parent Manuals
- Lesson Plans including all supporting documents
- Great Masters Virtual Museum Program
Each Lesson Includes:
- An objective
- A video – the video is broken down into chapters for revisiting it
- Lesson plan – very detailed, includes vocabulary they’ll be using, concepts they are learning
- Handouts – helpful starting places and examples
Why Choose An Online Art Curriculum?
The best thing about this art curriculum is that it is online. Each lesson’s video includes real examples from artists. They have step by step examples of the type of art they are teaching your child about, for example lines or color.
This curriculum isn’t going to take up space on your shelf, or on your hard drive and risk you never finding it again, you can use it completely online, which is our preferred method. Using an online curriculum means you can access it from any device, and anywhere with internet which is handy when you have moved multiple times in a year and can only find half your books still. Learn from my experience, online can be best.
What I LOVE about Atelier Homeschool Art by Arts Attack
As a parent I love that they give you a supply list up front and center, you don’t have to look through each lesson to find all the materials needs. If you are lucky enough to get funding for your homeschool supplies and want to buy everything at once, this is super helpful.
There is a glossary of terms that you can print off to have reference for you and your children as they are working through the videos. Preventing you from having to look up any terms that are being learned.
There is a parent manual, it includes program goals which we as homeschoolers sometimes have to provide to the school board, I did in Saskatchewan. It has so much information in it, any question about the level is there.
And so much more! The ease of these program is the best. It is a great independent program and you and your kids can choose what lesson they want to work on instead of being told which they must do next.
