When you have young children it can be hard to find a way to entertain them while you are homeschooling your older children. Which is where these busy bags for toddlers and preschoolers come in handy. You may not need them everyday but they sure can be a sanity saver when needed.

In case you are new to the term busy bag it is very simple, and basically just an activity that you can put into, store, and travel with, in a bag. They can also be called quiet bins or quiet boxes. They really don’t have to be elaborate, in my experience simple is best.
There are no set rules for what goes into a busy bag. If you think your child will play with it for an extended amount of time, then make it. Busy bags are almost like a kit of activities, and take a little effort to make on the front end, but once they are made, you will have an arsenal of activities that can be used at a moment’s notice.
Benefits of Busy Bags
These busy bags can be a great way entertain them without spending a lot of time or energy to do so. Your busy bags can be used at others times too besides while homeschooling, like while traveling, or if you have a child sick in the hospital. Or maybe you are trying to clean up or get some work done.
They are a cheap way to make a quick source of entertainment and learning. You can easily buy everything at a dollar store. If you only give your child one bag at a time, clean up is easy – everything goes back in the bag.
